{You Capture} Spring

April 20, 2011

I’m back! Finally. And I’m trying to get this posted before Little Dee wakes up and wants to eat. JD Man fed her at 5, so she’ll be ready to eat here again soon.

And while I wish my comeback to You Capture was more spectacular, it’s what I got, mostly because I didn’t want to go any further than my walk to the mailbox or even step off the back porch for my shots.

So this is what the past week of “spring” has looked like in my corner of North Dakota:

Yes, that’s snow and it was still coming down. The white stuff had been pretty much gone at the beginning of last week. In fact, last Monday included sunshine and temps in the 60s. Obviously that didn’t last too long.

As you can see, I’ve been playing around with textures. Not sure how I’m doing, but I’m playing around and learning at least.

Trying to be creative while not putting on my boots and actually leaving the back porch.

But, then this morning when I got up, the sun was shining and I had to grab this shot yet. Also from the back porch. In my socks.

I am hopeful that the sunshine and the predicted 40s in the forecast will melt most of the snow. And then we’ll have mud. Oh yay. Supposedly there’s more snow in the forecast. Double yay.

And since my link thing isn’t working, here’s the URL for this week’s You Capture: http://www.ishouldbefoldinglaundry.com/2011/04/you-capture-spring-2.html

Oh, you poor thing. That snow would work a number on my mood at this point. BUT – at least it’s pretty – that morning shot is wonderful.

Yeahy ! welcome back ! I love the last picture=) I would clone or crop the telephone pole out and the wires and make it a print for your shop! love the lighting on it – I can see why you would step outside in your socks for it !

Oh no!! Bless your heart. Hope it warms up soon. Beautiful snow pictures…

Beautiful, but a very different kind of spring!

Oh, poor girl. And I was griping about 39 degrees this morning! Now I understand why you yelled “GREEN!” on my blog. LOL Our problem is that the temperature launches to 90, and within twelve hours, it’s 40. The plants can’t decide WHAT season it is, and that’s why we keep getting all these awful storms…

Oh man! That sure isn’t too spring like!! The only good news is when snow falls at this time of the year it’s only a matter of time before it leaves again!

    HA HA HA!!!!! HA!!!!!

All these “spring” You Captures are popping up in my reader. I hadn’t even looked to see what the theme was this week. I am gonna have to have to play too. Deep down, I think they’re all jealous of our lovely Spring here in ND, Regina!

Yep, yep! That white, clean, sparkling blanket of snow is just tooooo gorgeous! Actually, it really does make spring/summer and warm weather THAT much sweeter, doesn’t it?

  8. April 20, 2011 12:47 pm

What gorgeous shots. It may be spring but I am glad that you captured some wonderful shots of the snow.

  9. April 20, 2011 12:57 pm

OMG, you poor think. The theme this week is NOT “Dead of Winter.” I know you know that, but that’s sure what it looks like at your house. :-(

Thank you so much for the Lamb’s Ear identification. That sounds so much nicer than skunk cabbage, which is what I thought it was called!

  10. April 20, 2011 1:13 pm

Oh, no! I hope it warms up for you soon!

  11. April 20, 2011 1:48 pm

I think these would make better “Winter captures!” Hope spring finds its way there soon!!!

  12. April 20, 2011 1:54 pm

On the bright side, the snow does make for beautiful photos!

  13. April 20, 2011 2:24 pm

Brrrrrrrrrr! I’d have a cup of hot chocolate for you, but we’re pushing 90 today. Yuck!

Wow. Beautiful shots! Love the icicles and the last shot is just gorgeous!
I cannot believe how much snow you have. Hopefully it will not only melt but warm up and stay warm — minimize the mud! :)

  24. April 22, 2011 8:50 am

Oh my, my heart goes out to you! I am a die hard hot weather/sun loving/ barefoot/ Southern gal, and to have snow this late in the season would just about do me in!

But….there is nothing more serene and beautiful than sunshine on fresh snow. Love that last photo!
